Meet the team

The people who draw it, price it and build it.

PDQ runs on its own people: an owner with more than 40 years in the business, estimators who have worked the trades, an interior designer, a masonry crew, an office that keeps every account straight, and field leads who run the carpentry, framing, shop and window and door crews. Here is who they are.

Owner and President

Mike Pressgrove

40+ years in the field and in leadership

Mike founded PDQ Construction and leads it as Owner and President. In 2024 he was named the NAHB National Remodeler of the Year, an award presented at the BALA awards during the 2025 International Builders' Show. He has spent more than 40 years in hands-on work and in leadership roles, and he is one of the three Certified Aging-in-Place Specialists on staff.

“Do a good job, do what you say you're going to do, and surround yourself with good people.”

Masonry

Taylor Pressgrove

His crew lays the stone siding, fireplaces and firepits, indoors and out, that PDQ now offers as Custom Masonry. Masonry may be a new service at PDQ, but it is not new to this team.

Estimating and design

Will Potts

Role
Estimator
Record
25+ years in the industry

Will brings more than 25 years of hands-on experience in home improvement and specializes in windows, doors and exterior siding. He is known for craftsmanship, attention to detail and a commitment to doing the job right.

Away from work he camps, hikes, rides motorcycles and works on classic cars with his wife and two children.

Jeff Starkey

Role
Estimator
Record
38+ years in construction

Jeff began his career in the field as a carpenter and moved into estimating at PDQ in 2023. More than 38 years in the industry, with hands-on time in framing, welding and carpentry, gives him a practical read on what a job takes.

That experience serves commercial work and remodeling alike, and it is why his estimates are accurate and efficient. He hunts, fishes and golfs, and he has three daughters and seven grandchildren.

Marsha Schmitt-Fulton

Role
Estimator, Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist
Record
21+ years in construction

Marsha started out flipping homes and went on to own a painting company, and her background in new construction and custom homes makes her a go-to for homeowners in Topeka, Lawrence and Junction City. She has a keen eye for color, design and function, especially in kitchens and bathrooms.

She also prepares estimates for exterior projects, including decks and windows. Marsha is one of PDQ’s three CAPS professionals.

Payton Summers

Role
Interior Designer, Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist
Record
Bachelor’s in interior design

Payton draws the project before it is built. She uses SoftPlan to produce floor plans and realistic 3D renderings, then walks clients through selections such as tile, paint, cabinet pulls and fixtures.

Her experience spans both design and construction, starting in new construction, which lets her bridge the gap between a design idea and real-world execution. She is also one of PDQ’s three CAPS professionals.

Office

Janelle Miller

Role
Office Manager
Record
On the accounts since 2008

Janelle is PDQ’s “Mama Miller,” always caring for and supporting the PDQ team. She keeps the company running strong with her skills and has managed all of the accounts since 2008.

Sierra Repp

Role
Office Assistant
Record
With PDQ since 2019

Sierra has been an essential part of PDQ’s operations since 2019, overseeing accounts receivable and handling other key tasks. She started with the company as an intern through the Topeka Area Building Association student chapter.
